Password Problems
 

I just installed Mandrakelinux 10.1 and during the install it never asked me to add a user or creat a password. so now whenever it boots up it asks for a password that i never made. Any thoughts?

well, most distro's .....even slackware will ask if you want to set a password for root after the install is done........then after a reboot and you login as root, then you make a username for yourself...........

you may have to bootup with a live CD.....like knoppix....and edit the /etc/passwd file manually.......IF you installed and enabled the shadow program.......you will also need to edit that file too.....
