password correct but..unable to login??
 
Hi all,

i donno what happen , suddenly whn i give su password...it is displaying..

su: 23: No such file or directory

so i logoff and enter through root..and password..

it is displaying unable to loging as root!

password is correct ..

please help me what i have to do...

its really very urgent for me...all my work depends on su only..

so plz help me.

You can try resetting the root password by entering runlevel 1. On the grub selection screen, place the selection on Suse and hit 'e'. Select the kernel line and hit 'e' again. Type '1' at the end of the line, press 'enter' and 'b' to boot into runlevel 1. Then use the 'passwd' command.

thks but my password i correct ! it is not giving message that password is incorrect!

So you are able to login as root then?

if my password is wrong then

incorrect password.

what's the output of 'whereis su'?
