Exclamation Partitioning HELP!!!!!pleeease


Linux has totally messed up my HD, I have a 160GB SATA. Before Linux, I had installed windows flawlessly, it detected my drive and everything. Now, After deleting Windows and installing Linux, I boot up with win 98 boot disk and use fdisk and it detect my HDD as a 23GB.?!!!!! I try running windows xp setup but it says no hard drive are installed. Yet linux works perfectly...detects my 160GB sata perfectly...I wanna get rid of linux!!! please please help me get it off, I have tried like crazy with only 4 hrs of sleep , please help!!!!!!

wait a sec... Did you try install win98 over linux ??? Win98 has messed it up
Why did you try make sendwich of your hard disk?

Dos fdisk will only report the drive as being 23Gb. If you delete any partitions on the drive with DOS fdisk then format them DOS will only report the drive as being 23GB, but it will format the full 160GB. Ran into the same problem with my 250GB SATA Drive, but it was XP that had the problem formatting it so I formatted in DOS and XP used the entire 250GB instead of the usual 130GB. Go ahead and fdisk and format with DOS. Also since you are using SATA you will need to install addition drivers at the Windows XP install scene in order for it to see the hard drive. The key is F6 as soon as Windows XP install boots up.

wooooooooo!! I flashed my mobo bios, download the latest sil 3x12 sataraid drivers and booted into winxp setup and used the floppy with the drivers, its installing right now!!!!
I make a bunch of partitions so hopefully later I can add linux and dual boot!!
