first of all, i would like to say I SHOULD BE SHOT. ok, i tried installing win98 onto an external hdd, but first it needed a ms-dos partition on my internal hdd to load the files...i made a partition with fdisk on a windows 98 boot-up disk and it basically owned everything. at first i thought it killed my mbr...but i figured out my partition table on hda is done...because of...
Code:
FATAL ERROR: Bad primary partition 1: Partition ends after end-of-disk
Press any key to exit cfdisk
hehehe...the joy of windows....(btw, i was trying to install windows b/c i wanted to use my laptop to play games...the external hdd is its drive in an enclosure and someone told me that windows 98 would boot from usb...heh...figured it was worth a shot...)
well, if theres a way to somehow fix the partition table...plz tell me, lol (windows fdisk cant read my hdb partition table either, but linux can, so no worries...but hda is... =/) i swear ill never put a windows 98 disc in my computer again...lol...well...to be more accurate, ill never use a windows 98 fdisk again...i have learned my lesson -_-
ack, almost forgot...also, i can mount the partitions from hda, i just cant modify/view the partitions in a partition editor...u'd think that u wouldn't be able to mount em, but uh well...*starts backing up data just in case* =/
