Partition question
 

Hello,
I'm still having KDE problems (It will not work) with MDK 9.1. I wonder, could my partition sizes be a problem? Currently I have;

/ 305 MB
/SW 771 MB
/usr 3.1 Gig
/home 415 MB

I have 30 Gig of free space on C-drive. If I resize C will it possibly help? If so How much should I add to the Linux side? (The wife saw my home icon in Gnome she would like her own), what kind of space will that require?

I don't think it's space problem. The only thing may be with /tmp (it's on your / partition, during work it may grow bigger and 300MB may not be enough). When you work with Linux, use 'df' command and see how much space is left on /. If not much, make / bigger (~1GB).

I wonder if installing with out KDE, then adding through package manager later will help?

Rather not. /tmp is used when an application works. KDE, when you run it, creates quite many temporary files. You may then run out of space...

You were right, that didn't work either.
Will RH 7.3 or MDK 8.2 work any better with KDE?
I don't want to give up on linux but I have spent a lot of time on MDK 9.1 to no avail.

You should try GNU Parted. It's fairly easy to use (as long as you read the documentation;)) and it can resize and move partitions quite easily (also has an awesome 'rescue' feature). Try that out for the resizing.
