partition


Hi,
I have a disk(500 gb).i would like to have two file system(ext3,RAW).
is it possible?if it's how to do that?

You need to provide information on your distribution and version of Linux.

In general the answer is yes you can certainly do multiple fileystems and raw devices (raw devices by definition are NOT filesystems). You can even use LVM instead of partitions for these.

By the way RAW devices are deprecated in favor of DIRECT_IO (e.g. Oracle's OCFS2.) That means while they are still there now they may go away in a future kernel release.
