parted question

I am trying to shrink RH9 partition with parted. When I print all the partitions the partition that I want to shrink is described:

2 101.975 38750.537 primary ext3

but when I try to resize it says:

No implementation: This ext2 filesystem has a rather strange layout! Parted can't resize this (yet).

It really says ext2 in this warning.
I have only RH9 on this computer.
I am trying to make space for FC2.

Any help?

Thanks

Are you using the most up to date version?

Are you doing it as the documentation describes?
http://www.gnu.org/software/parted/m...d_2.html#SEC25

If you are then try fsck'ing the disk first.

so I did fsck and it said something like:

/boot: recovering journal

I don't know what that means.
But parted still doesn't work.

Any clues?
