Parallel port Webcam
Hi,
I've just upgraded to Suse 9.1, and I'm trying to get a Creative Webcam II (parallel port) to work on the system. I've looked at some howto's but i'm still confused as to what i'm doing wrong here. I think the distro already setup the drivers since dmesg gives: parport0: PC-style at 0x378 [PCSPP,TRISTATE,EPP] parport0: irq 7 detected parport0: Multimedia device, VLSI Vision Ltd PPC2 Camera However, if i try executing xawtv or webcam all i get is: > webcam reading config file: /home/xxx/.webcamrc video4linux webcam v1.3 - (c) 1998-2000 Gerd Knorr grabber config: size 320x240, input (null), norm (null), jpeg quality 75 rotate=0, top=0, left=0, bottom=240, right=320 ftp config: webcam@www:public_html/images uploading.jpeg => webcam.jpeg open /dev/video0: No such device or address v4l: open /dev/video0: No such device or address no grabber device available is this a problem with the xawtv configuration or the webcam configuration? Any help appreciated for a humble newb, norm77 |
