Parallel CD-ROM
 
How do I get a floppy disk based installation of Linux (like Tomsrtbt or the Mandrake install images) to recongnize a parallel port CD-ROM? ...or do I have a bum or misconfigured CD-ROM?

I bet my CD-ROM's a dud, or I hadn't figured out how to use it under Linux or something. Is that it? (I find I often have to bump my threads up to get a decent amount of replies).

Haven't tried it, but it seems that you'll need the pcd module.
modprobe pcd
mount /dev/pcd0 /mnt/cdrom
