Question PAM unable to dlopen(/lib/security/pam_keyinit.so)

Can somebody explain what this error as seen in /var/log means and what negative impact could have? I am clutching at straws to debug an issue associated with my application (documentum) and I happened to see this error in the server log. I doubt this has anything to do with the application error, but would be able to confirm if I know what this error means.
I did review the associated threads and google serach, but I am not enturely sure what PAM security means...
Thanks in advance for the help and advise.

PAM is a modular user authentication framework. Does the shared object /lib/security/pam_keyinit.so exist on your system and what permissions has it got?

No, the pam_keyinit does not exist under /lib/security. Though the application issue has been resolved, I would still like to know the impact of not having this file.

Thank you for tips.
