After the package installed, I created several symlinks in /lib/security as suggested by Travis Hein:
ln -s pam_unix.so pam_unix2.so
ln -s pam_unix.so pam_unix_auth.so
ln -s pam_unix.so pam_unix_acct.so
Finally, I created etc/pam.d and copied usr/sbin/vmware-authd into the directory. NOTE: Due to some restrictions on my server, I cant have the / in front of the etc on one of these pages. When you create pam.d make sure you get it in the proper place. That etc should have a / in front of it.
thanks for any help!!
Cheers
Danny

My vmserver runs fine without the rest of the tutorial being completed but i cant logon even with the root user and i have also now tried usr/bin #./vmware-config.pl
this did not help after i reconfigured vmware...
I would just like to setup some logins for vmwareas at the moment i cant login at all.
I could use them from the host if needed but it really dosn't matter, Im just trying to figure out where i went wrong and get my vmserver install working and at least 1 login working so i get a better idea of what i need to do to get it working the way i want it.
Lol I know the double post i thought would get deleted so i could only have one but yes fixed the problem now im starting on my next project which I'll probable post on here soon
