Pam install for vmserv2 on latest slackware, cant figure out tutorial

Hey everyone
problem is as follows + Im to new to figure it out...

OK installed src2pkg
installed vmserver 2
used srx2pkg to make the pam.tar.gz pkg and will install with installpkg

dont get the rest of the tutorial..... Found here
http://hangdog.pihl.no-ip.org/index....d=49&Itemid=62

After the package installed, I created several symlinks in /lib/security as suggested by Travis Hein:
ln -s pam_unix.so pam_unix2.so
ln -s pam_unix.so pam_unix_auth.so
ln -s pam_unix.so pam_unix_acct.so

Finally, I created etc/pam.d and copied usr/sbin/vmware-authd into the directory. NOTE: Due to some restrictions on my server, I cant have the / in front of the etc on one of these pages. When you create pam.d make sure you get it in the proper place. That etc should have a / in front of it.

thanks for any help!!
Cheers
Danny

Hey
sorry for extra post

src2pkg -B -C -e='--libdir=/usr/lib --sbindir=/lib/security --enable-securedir=/lib/security --enable-read-both-confs'
Linux-PAM-1.0.1.tar.gz

could i have gotten this wrong.

My vmserver runs fine without the rest of the tutorial being completed but i cant logon even with the root user and i have also now tried usr/bin #./vmware-config.pl
this did not help after i reconfigured vmware...

Can you explain what your aim is? Are you trying to use the same users and groups from the host machine?

I would just like to setup some logins for vmwareas at the moment i cant login at all.

I could use them from the host if needed but it really dosn't matter, Im just trying to figure out where i went wrong and get my vmserver install working and at least 1 login working so i get a better idea of what i need to do to get it working the way i want it.

Reasons not to double post: Did you solve your problem as stated in this thread?

I'm not sure I follow you. When I set up a VM, I set up the users and groups IN the VM?
