which mandrake are you running? looks like you've got 2 choices, the older lib version, or the newer lib version. only you can answer that. once you determine that looks like you'll need the cli client, and the gui frontend, if you want a gui. hope that helps.
good luck.

ok, i actually downloaded this and extracted it so i could have a look at the readme.

Quote:
Just start the command line client from the command line like this:

% overnet0.53.3-tim-oldlibs

Then type '?' to get a list of commands.

Run

% overnet0.53.3-tim-oldlibs --help
that is an excerpt from the readme file. hope that makes sense.
good luck.

In order to use the search function you have to first log in as root then type "updatedb". Then you should be able to search.

another quote from the readme

Quote:
If you want to remote control the command line client, you MUST set up an
'admin' username and password using the 'pass joe joepass' command, and you
MUST start the command line client with the '-g' command line option
(otherwise it won't open the port it listens on for GUI connections, which
is usually TCP port 4663)
do you have the command line client running? you should have a good look at the readme, as well as this

http://ed2k-gtk-gui.sourceforge.net/faq.shtml

hope that helps.
good luck.

if you google it, you'll find multiple references to it, but there should be a copy of it on on the edonkey website.

Were you ever able to install Overnet?

I've had what sounds like the same problem. Here's my post
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=195448

I use the installer and it doesn't show up?

I didn't get nearly as many responses as you did, You must have a better profile. (although Peacedog tried!)

I refuse to use kazaa on Windows. Please help me get overnet insatlled!

Thanks!
The JMeister...
