Unhappy out of scan range


when FC6 boots up its gives error "out of scan range".
i am new to linux can anyone help. i have a dual boot with xp and the windows side works just fine!!!!!!
Help needed

sounds like a video driver issue.
try booting with the vesa video driver. does that work?
(if you are using grub it i think you have to press F3 and select "boot vesa")

New to linux can you be very simple as how I do this.

Hi! Fedora uses Grub by default, so when you get the message in your screen to pick an operating system hit F3, then type boot vesa

oops, didn't see it is resolved already...

however, you don't want to go on with the vesa driver forever, do you??

I do not!
The error is back again I just added a second monitor and it is back. What do I do to fix thsi for good?

Edit your /etc/X11/xorg.conf as root and change the Driver ".." value to "vesa" under Section "Device".

Vesa is a general driver. If you want to get specific drivers for your card, you have to give complete details of your hardware. Please do so.

You should post your graphic card specs... or check out for documentation about it at xfree86.org...
