Oracle Linux 7 and Exceed XDMCP connect problem

Hi - I have a new Oracle Linux 7 (OL7) system and am trying to connect to it from a PC via Exceed (Opentext 14) XDMCP-Broadcast. I've done all of the mods reqd on the OL7 system (/etc/gdm/custom.conf, iptables stuff, reqd rpms installed, gdm running, etc.) but when I select the host from the XDMCP-Broadcast Chooser screen, there is a short delay, and then a screen with a sad-face comes up: Oh no! Something has gone wrong. A problem has occurred and the system can't recover. Please log out and try again. Am I missing something in the setup???? All of my RHEL5 and 6 machines connect in fine via XDMCP.

You did all what based on what web page example?

I was trying to get to the RH pages but they seem to be locked for the answer. Centos doesn't seem to have the 7 up.

Try not to use XDMCP.

It is an outdated and insecure way to have an X terminal.

That being the case; what would you recommend?

I suggest using ssh and forwarding any windows you want.

The problem with XDMCP is that all access controls are unencrypted.
