Using firefox on Ubuntu 9.04. when I click tools, options is not in the menu. How can I get it back? I have searched a lot but haven't found the answer.
The tools menu contains. Web Search > Downloads > Add-ons > Error console > Page Info > Clear Private Data > manage Content Plug-ins. Thanks.
For whatever reason, Tools>Options is in the Windows version and Edit>Preferences in the Linux version. It's possible that that's the standard, but it can be confusing early on.
I had already used edit preferences to to some things, but didn't make the connection that tools is not the same here as in Windows. I was confused when I saw directions to click tools then options, and options wasn't there for me to click.

This option is under the "Thread Tools" of this page.
All I can say is I did search Mozillazine and several other sites. My search didn't find that page because I didn't know I was looking for it. I don't recall what I was trying to do, but the directions said click tools > options, I was trying to find out what had happened to options.
Now I know that if something calls for tools > options, I should use edit > preferences. Thanks to all who responded.
