OpsenSUSE 11.1 ppp dialup issues
 

Hello,

I just installed OpenSUSE 11.1 with the default desktop of GNOME. Installed the linuxant driver for my conexant modem and entered the license key. Problem is I can only dial as root, otherwise I get an error that /dev/ttySHSF0 "device or resource is busy". I already set /dev/ttySHSF0 to be in group dialout which my regular user account is a member of. I've read online that any user can dial provided they have read permission of the chat script and pppd is setuid root. So where is this chat script and how can I confirm that pppd is setuid root?

Finally, a completely unrelated question. OpenSUSE puts 2 icons on my desktop that are locked and i'm unable to remove them. They're not even located in the ~/Desktop directory! How do I get rid of these stupid icons? One of them is a link to OpenSUSE's website, and the other is equally pointless.

Deleting unwanted icons
 

for deleting unwanted first right click on desktop and then unlock widgets. Now go to what ever icon that you don't want . You have 4 symbols for each icon . Click on cross icon that will prompt for confirmation of deleting the icon .
