Question OpenSuse 11.1 USB scanner problem

Hi all!
I have a problem with USB scanner installation on OpenSuse 11.1b3.Scanner model is Mustek Bearpaw 1200 CU Plus.
I read man page about gt68xx,went to SANE project website and other related docs. So,I downloaded firmware, put it in /usr/share/sane/gt68xx/,as man page says and went to gt68xx.conf,changed nothing there,as a remark in file says about my scanner model. So far so good. Also, I checked about libsane-gt68xx and found only libsane-gt68xx.so1 and libsane-gt68xx.so.1.0.19,not libsane-gt68xx.a and sane-mustek_usb2.so1,sane-mustek_usb2.so.1.0.19,sane-mustek_usb.so1,sane-mustek_usb.so.1.0.19 and not sane-mustek_usb.a. I don't know where to find to download, the two missing files and if this is the problem and/or something else.I tried to add the scanner with Yast(hardware -> scanner),the scanner is detected( driver:gt68xx scanner:Mustek Bearpaw 1200 CU Plus on gt68xx:libusb:005:002),but when I try to add it or edit,a message says that firmware must be loaded,so system can not see firmware file I've put in /usr/share/sane/gt68xx/.
I have a little experience about Linux so if somebody could shed any light on this,I would appreciate it very much. Thanks in advance.

Try placing the firmware file in /lib/firmware/ too.

OpenSuse 11.1 USB scanner problem

Thanks for your reply rjwilmsi.Due to need of reinstalling the os,for some more reasons beyond scanner problem,I found out that the problem was that I hadn't give the right permissions to the file. This time I gave permissions, with firmware installed in the same directory like before and running after that the wizard to add driver for scanner, system finally found the model of scanner and all went perfect. So,lessons to learn for me here...!
