Hullo, all.
I'm trying to install the latest version of LyX (
www.lyx.org), which depends on Qt3. If I try to upgrade Qt, it says it fails because libcrypto.so.2 and libssl.so.2 are both needed.
Both of these are provided by the openssl package.
To upgrade openssl, and satisfy dependencies, the system (Mandrake 9.1) wants to uninstall LOTS of nice things, like KDE, ghostview, cups, ImageMagick, etc. Most of these are no problem -- I'll just reinstall, but I don't want to lose KDE, even momentarily. Is there something I can do to work around this?
Thanks,
