Angry OpenOffice setup launches HUGE windows

Trying to install from OOo_1.1.3_LinuxIntel_install on RH 9 - Run install -net as per the instructions and I get what appears to be very large windows. So large, in fact, that the only thing I can do is to kill the windows. Some kind of prompt is in one of them but it continues off the bottom of the screen and is not viewable. I am attempting to re-install since the initial installation behaved the same way. Anybody got any ideas? Is there an rpm version of 1.1.3 that might work better? Sorry about all the questions - newbie to Linux, struggling a bit.

Gnome has options for a hotkey that, when pressed, allows you to drag the window just by holding down the mouse button anywhere on the window. I forget if it's on by default, though.

What resolution are you running at?

Can grab the window and move it side to side but not off the top of the display. Still cannot see what is in the windows. Characters are about 2" high on my 24" monitor. One screen appears to say "Administrator". This is really dumb. Regarding resolution, I'm at 1600 x 1200 but it behaves the same way at lower res. Discouraging

That's so odd. The only thing I found on OpenOffice's problems site was this: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=1246

But that's a pretty old bug (2001, it says), and it says it was fixed. The only way I can think of fixing it is to build OO from source or downloading one of the older releases and seeing if it works.

PS I remembered as I read your post that Gnome won't let you drag windows past the taskbar, sorry
