Opening VNC Server

Hello to all;

I am using puuty to connect my own database. I tried to invoke Graphical User Interface(GUI) so i choosed   
"VNC Server/Viewer"

You don't provide any details, so it's hard for anyone to help you. What version of putty? On what kind of system? Is VNC up and running on your Linux box?
