Question

Shouldnt Linux (using maybe the Gimp) be able to open up Photoshop files that were saved on a Mac formatted CD-R.

Somebody who uses a Mac in New Zealand sent me a CD-R with some images on it saved in Photoshop(Mac version) and burned on a Mac. Lord knows Windoze wont have anything to do with it(or should it?) but I was hoping SUPER Linux would be able to open it up. I tried at first to open it in the Gimp but it doesnt see anything on the CD. When I mounted the CD Linux gives me some kind of error(sorry forgot what it was).

Does this sound strange to anyone? My next option is to try and find one of the Mac things and see if I can open it up on there. Has anyone seen one lately?(j/k)

_______________
On a side note how does linux run on a G4

RE: mac os formatted cds

the kernel needs to be compiled with support for the apple file system, which is HFS.
