Question OpenGL and MOHAA

Hi Guys,

I am hoping someone here can help me out a bit.

I came across this http://www.icculus.org/lgfaq/gamelist.php and thought, cool, I will try it out for Medal of Honour Allied Assault.

I have a PC with an Intel 845 Gfx Card in.

The MOHAA installer worked perfectly, so it is now on my machine.
Trouble is when I try to run it, I get a OpenGL Subsystem Error.

As I have never tried installing any games before, I am guessing the required files aren't on my FC4 machine.

I tried installing DRI, which I think is what I needed, but I don't really know if it worked or not. I still get the OpenGL error, so either it didn't work or there are more things missing.

Can anyone help?
Is there a magic yum update/install I can use that will fix everything for me?

Thanks in advance for any help offered, I have tried very hard on my own to get this to work, but am now giving up and asking for help.

Cheers
Andy

The first thing is to get DRI up and running. What do you get from glxinfo? This will tell you if you have direct rendering enabled.

Also, what X driver are you using for your card? The i810 covers the 8xx range.

Hi IOError, thanks for replying.

When installing the DRI it said to install the i910 drivers if you have an i845, so thats what I think I did.

OK, so obviously DRI is not enabled. Make sure you are loading the dri and glx X modules.
Ensure that

Code:
Option "dri"
Option "glx"
is in the "Modules" section of your xorg.conf/XF86Config. As far as I know, you don't need any proprietary opengl drivers for the i8xx.

If that doesn't work, check the log file (/var/log/XFree86.0.log) to see what's happening when it tries to initialize dri.
