Question Open windows share links in outlook via crossover

Hi all,

I have installed Ms Office 07 via cross over. It's workin fine but when i try to open links with windows shares, it returns and error that the path cannot be verified or is not correct..A collegue adviced to edit the fstab file to mount smb shares upon a system boot..if i edit this file, and i add that particular share to the fstab file, will it be accessible when i click the link of outlook?

Or how do you enable to click the links in outlook and they directly open without havin to copy the link in konqueror?

You realise that most of us do not use windows programs for this?

I take it you have a doc or docx file open in MSOffice 2007 in crossover, which includes hypertext. Or you have Outlook running in crossover and you are looking at hypertext in an email. (which?) You want to click the hypertext and have the proper thing happen. When the hypertext is an instruction to load a windows share you get an error message that the path is incorrect?

You need to edit crossovers config file so the path is correctly mapped to your system.
You need a samba client installed on your machine.

Note
- you can access outlook emails from evolution mail - which has good compatability with windows environments.
- you can access windows shares from linux using the samba client, hell, it will probably even work from evolution. I don't know if OOo compatability is that good - certainly there is no reliable way to impliment OOXML.

Bottom line is - try it out and see.
Realise that the only reliable way to run windows applications at full function is to use windows ... err, actually, that isn't 100% either...

Probably from the same dialog where you set up the fake drives.
