open office shortcut problem

Hi, dont know if this question is appropriate in here, but I will ask in hope anyway. I am trying to find a way of formatting some text in open office 1.1. I want to show the equation 2 to the power 4 in the document as 2 followed by the smaller 4 beside it. I have searched high and low and cannot seem to find the shortcut anywhere. Any suggestions.

In anticipation
TamTam.

Hi

Here is how you do format that you are looking for.

To make it into a power of a number
Press Ctrl+Shift+P to make the text superscript,

Type your base number, then press the above keys, type in your power number, spacbar, above keys again to get back into normal size again.

If you want to lower the number as a footnote, then you follow the same example follow the keys below

Ctrl+Shift+B to make the text subscript.

You can set the size the superscript and subscript by going to Format in the toolbar, then selecting character, then clicking on the position tab.

Hope that will be useful to you.

Thanks Commando464 :)

The shortcut keys didnot work, but going to Format/character and choosing position tab before finally selecting superscript did.

Cheers m8.
