open in terminal

When Iam asked what program to use to open a file in I want to specify a program that is used in the terminal. Ok it opens except I can't do anything because a terminal window didn't open. How may I open a terminal window and some program to run in it?

gnome-terminal -e "command" [if GNome]
konsole -e "command" [if KDE]
