open GUI on Linux machine from other machine (Windows or Linux)

Hi folks,

Here is my scenario:

From one machine (Windows or Linux), I want to open a GUI program on a Linux machine (such as 'xclock') via ssh or STAF or anything else. How can I do it? That Linux machine is Fedora 6.

For example: on that Linux machine, I type 'xclock', then a GUI appears. But from other machine, I use ssh to call command 'xclock' on that machine, I can not see the GUI of that program appear.

Maybe something like VNC is what you're looking for? That is the only way I can think of seeing the GUI from another machine. I don't think there is a way to call up an individual GUI from other machines.

Let me clarify my scenario. I'm a tester, and I want to "open" a GUI program on Linux machine to do some task, not "see" it on that Linux machine screen. I prefer using command line such ssh or STAF command.

How can I do it. Thanks.
