Opaque clock!?

Can anyone tell me why my clock background is not translucent like the rest of the toolbar. It used to be until today...I don't know how to fix it. I tried rebooting the computer, changing the toolbar colour, removing and replacing the clock in the hope it would refesh it somehow, but none of these have worked...

I am running ubuntu 5.04 and have a toolbar at the top of my screen. The clock is in the top right corner and the toolbar itself is blue with translucency activated as one of my preferences. The clock however remains the colour of the system theme (black text on a light grey background). It used to be just black text incorporated into the translucent blue...that's how i want it...

Can someone please suggest a fix?

Would really appreciate it.
