Online Storage Providers

I'm trying to pick between the many online storage providers, and I'm a bit lost in trying to decide. I'm using Ubuntu (Karmic), so UbuntuOne is an option, but I've also heard good things about Dropbox and SpiderOak. Can anybody give me some advice on what the main differences are?

I have a friend who swears by Mozy.

http://mozy.com/home

Personally, I wouldn't use online storage if I can save my backups locally--which I can. Then, again, I'm seem to attract old computers to use as file servers.

Unfortunately, Mozy doesn't work on Linux (Windows/Mac only). :-/

Thumbs down Mozy? NO!

I used mozy for a year and hated it! They lost a bunch of stuff that I had saved for years and trusted them with.

zazou, what features do you want? I am interested in these products for their synchronization features, is that something that matters to you? If not, let's not take this thread OT (off-topic ) until you have your answers.

I have 2 friends friends who like & use Dropbox, one is a full "Winders" user, the other uses Linux sometimes.

A 3rd, a pure or almost pure Linux user, uses & swears by SpiderOak.

Jungledisk was highly recommended by several members of my local LUG and I have been using Jungledisk for about 7 months now and been very happy with it. I use the 'expensive' option which is $5 USD a month for gui-less server option. Depending on your needs, there are options that are as low as $2 a month. Of course there are plenty of free options if they meet your needs.

Totally forgot about this thread! In the end, Dropbox seems to have served most of my needs, though I'm keeping the others in mind for future use.
