One annoying thing after another..minimization..
 

With almost every app, once I open it, I cannot minimize it..I have no dash, no little square, and no x..
If I open something, it takes up the entire screen. I cannot move it, minimize it or do anything with it which would enable me to open another app..i.e. Open Gmail then try to start streaming audio...

It's just one annoying thing after another with this stuff..

I am able to put the distro I'm using (Ubunty 10.4) into my profile, but I have no idea how to put any other informaiton in...

Copy and paste is another annoying facet..it works sometimes, but not all the time...

all the cylinders just don't hit at the same time with this sufff..

What desktop environment?

Does the window have a titlebar at all?

I don't know the name of the desktop environment..it's the purple screen...that's all
No, the window has no titlebar when (for example) the screen I have to use to stream the audio is up

If they're all running properly, you don't need to know...

if they're not, the engine burps when the bad one comes up.

"purple" says nothing at all about the DE, it's just a wallpaper.

Not without closing this app, ggoing back to the original screen, taking a screenshot and attempting to paste it..
It's a purple background with a few icons..that's all.

I have a copy of it..(screenshot)..on the desktop, but I can't see it..I can't drag and drop it..I can't minimize this screen to do anything with it.
It's there, but I have no way to get it here...

Just icons? No panels on the top/bottom/left of the screen?

There's a bar across the top with a few headings..and an absolutely blank bar across the bottom..
