Question Onboard sound card MSI/nVIDIA not seen by Mint7

Very pleased with Mint7,except the onbord sound card does not seem to work.Run aN AMD2 Sempron, 2880 cpu,512ddr2 memory,MSI K9N6,nVIDIA GeForce MCP61.Realtek Audio.Havetried to use WineDoors to try to configure the onbord system but no luck,so far.Am I heading in the right direction?Any help would be very greatfuly recieved.

Try configuring first ... open a terminal and type this and follow the prompts.

$ sudo su

# alsaconf
Then right click on the volume applet and select "Open Volume Control" There adjust all volume levels.
