Maybe this list of distributions that run on Old Computers might be helpful?

http://distrowatch.com/search.php?ca...=Old+Computers

I've also had a lot of luck running Slackware on old hardware.

THIS
"onboard nvidia geforce 4"
is going to be a MAJOR PROBLEM!!!

nouveau dose not work well and the 96-nvidia.run will REQUIRE YOU to DOWNGRADE xorg to 1.13 or 1.12

CentOS 5.11 will work with that
CentOS 6.6 will BUT !!!!!
you will have to DOWNGRADE xorg to 1.13 in CentOS 6.3 to install the unsupported Nvidia96 .run driver

i have a old DELL 8200 with a gforce2 mx 400 card running ScientificLinux 6.6
