I wants to know this.
i want to clarify who view my posted, last week. I like to install ubuntu 10.10 32 bit for my old computer. here's species 3200+ AMD sempromtm process 80 HD 1.17 GB memory but my question is ,which is better for ubuntu or xubuntu ? thanks |
That computer should handle either version perfectly well. It is just a matter of your preference.

regarding to desktopenvironments like Gnome (Ubuntu) or KDE (Kubuntu) or XFCE (Xubuntu) I'd recommend to take a look at the graphics-hardware of the old computer. At least KDE (the recent releases) needs a relatively recent graphicsadapter. XFCE doesn't use that much resources, so it may be that Xubuntu is the better choice for you. I don't disagree with stress_junkie's answer, I think it is correct. I may be inclined to use lubuntu or xubuntu.
Your system is kind of on the fence in my opinion. In a few ways it is pretty good while in others it might be lacking. I guess you can easily try ubuntu an see how well you like it but later you may have some slowness. |
yesterday, i decide to ubuntu 10.10 installed it to my computer old, seem perfectly worked, very fast. i don't see any the problem. that's all. thanks for the answered. i am very much a appreciate.
