Oh NO, Partition table unreadable?

Okay this is not the error that Iwant to see. I am trying to install redhat 8.0 onto a partition of a disk that is in company of a few NTFS partitions. I was using fdisk to create a primary partition to install RH onto. When I went back into the install and was at the point of picking the method of partitioning(automatic, fdisk...), and an error came up saying: "The partition table on device hdc is unreadable. To create new partitons it must be initialized causing loss of ALL DATA on this drive." hdc is the partion that I had just created to install RH onto. I am confused by the reference to the "drive" being that Windoze boots fine. Anyhow can someone possibly let me know what is going on and what I can do to remedy the situation.

Thanks

are you sure that hdc is the disk you are trying to install to? its possible its not recognizing your cd drive correctly

I am pretty sure that hdc is the target install partition. It was showing up that way before I changed it to a primary partition.
