odd questions


so if my isp blocks port 25 for mail

what am i supposed to use to host a server?

Well, their entitled to do this. If they don't block any other ports, you can easily still run a server for other things, just not a mail server. Perhaps get a cheap hosting provider to handle email for you.

You may be able to do that - for instance, my ISP blocks outgoing port 25 connections, but they provide an SMTP server I can point sendmail to (there's a configuration setting for that in sendmail.conf(?), can't remember which one it is right now) - you'll need to check with your ISP to see if they provide an SMTP server you can use.
