Odd program idea

First off, I'm a bit random at times, so don't be afraid.

I want to make a bash script that will run in the back ground, and will keep tabs on certain words i use, and put them into a file. Kinda like a database. The focus of this would be a swear jar. I would like to keep track of any foul word i type in, and later see how many times i use that word in "x" amount of time.

However:

1.) can it be done?
2.) is it wise to have something like that on a machine? (sounds like a key logger to me)
3.) or is there a better project to work on. This will be my first real big script.

any suggestion, criticisms, or others are welcome.

J

Yes. That would be a key logger and would key hooks into core system drivers.
Not something that can be done with scripts. More like modifications to the Linux kernel and possibly X11.

If, however, you mean spoken words . . .
