ODD behavior in KDE

Hi,

I am experiencing a very odd behavior in KDE. When i minize a task (Mozilla, Skype etc), instead of getting minimized windows on the taskbar (at the bottom) they just disappear. Even when i click on the icon of that particular desktop i can not see them.
However if i press both the mouse button at the same time (right+left) i get a list of all the programs that are present on the each desktop...
This just started happening and before everything was okay....
Any ideas on how to solve this problem?????

By the way, i am using Mandriva Free 2007 and the desktop manager is KDE.
Thnx for help

Do you have a task bar applet on your taskbar. not having one would cause this problem. try right clicking on the panel then.
add applet>>task bar
and see if that works

Check your panel applets. You should have the Taskbar applet installed, and on top. (A "right-click" on the screen bottom should display a "Panel Configuration" menu, which should show you a "Remove rom Panel" option. Selecting the "Applet" sub-option from that one should show you a list of your installed applets.)

To make sure it's "on top," try removing it and then reinstalling it.

I have the task bar at the top and if i click on windows, under it all the programs are displayed that are running at the moment...i-e mozilla etc.
The problem is as soon as i minize an application, it disappears completly, i have to click again on "windos" to view it......
Before it was working just like windows, you minize some thing , u can still see on the pannel at the bottom (though minimized)..Now i can see on the desktop number (1-4) but i cannot view the applications running.
So if i have a msg on skype etc, i completly miss it because i cant see icon at all..

And i should also mention that it was working perfectly ok, but i was just tinkering around with desktop behavior, and desktop configuration and this happened..........What i want to have is that when i click on on the desktop number (from 1 --4 ) it should display the minimized applications running on that desktop rather than just showing the number 1 no applications....guues i should not have messed with setting i dont undersstand..hmmmmmmmm

yeh, ive done that one before, ive also accisdentally deleted the K menu!!!

teh easiest thing to do is put it all back then right click and lock the panel
this will prevent you accidentally deliting things unless you unlock it
