Hello all~ I've tried to install octopussy syslog analyzer from this website - http://8pussy.org. I've tried with Debian v4, debian v5 and ubuntu 10.04 with no luck. I'm trying to install the latest which is Octo version 0.9.9.9.8.

Their website saids to run this after downloading the deb package.

dpkg -i octopussy_<version>_all.deb
apt-get -f install
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

However when after it is completed it doesn't work...
Some others says run dpkg -i octopussy_<version>_all.deb again after but there's some deny errors on some /usr/share/man/man1... folder.

Does anyone have a working combination of a debian/ubuntu version + octopussy version they can share?

Did you install all requirements as outlined in http://www.8pussy.org/doku.php?id=install ? You can use that document to check all components too.


"Doesn't work" doesn't say much. Do you mean the service doesn't run as outlined in the install document? Do you mean you can't access the web interface as outlined in http://www.8pussy.org/doku.php?id=web ?
