Unhappy Octal format


What command is used to display a file in octal format? The question sounds simple but I still need your help.

I know no program which does this, but why do you want to do so anyways?

I assume you could cat the file through tr or write a simple program which does it.

octal dump is one of the commands that will do this .. the command is "od"
