NvidiaGraphicsDrivers
hi everyone,
i tried to install the nvidia graphics driver by following the instructions here http://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphicsDrivers but unfortunately my whole gui disappeared after restarting x OS: Debian Squeeze (Stable) GPU: nVidia GeForce GTX560Ti Desktop Environment: XFCE4 x display manager: SLIM everything is CLI at the moment :( i want Debian with XFCE4 and SLIM back thanks in advance, Pieter |
Have you already checked the restart x and troubleshooting section?
Here are the steps to revert back: http://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphicsDrivers#Restart_X http://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphic...roubleshooting Thanks! |
You should be able to run through those instructions again (more carefully) without any ill effects. It can be a bit difficult to follow if you're just scrolling down, make sure you didn't miss something. Just start over - there's no reason for that card to not work in debian stable.

i actually never solved the problem but i'm running wheezy now and no problems there (at least not with the graphics driver ;)
