nvidia drivers and APMD

hey all,

I just completed a slackware 9.1 installation and i've been trying to get the power management features (sleep, suspend etc) to work but to no avail. I am currently running a GeForce 3 Ti200(w/ latest nvdia drivers) on an NEC MultiSync FE700. According to the readme file which comes with the nvidia installer, suspend and power off mode are supported by the driver but for some reason, they dont working on my rig. I switched back to the generic "nv" driver since I was able to use sleep mode with it on my old red hat 9 installation but that didnt seem to work either. I'd really appreciate any help regarding this. Thanks!

If for some reason Symmetric Multiprocessing (SMP) is built into your kernel, software suspend/sleep WILL NOT WORK. check your kernel configuration, and also look in your dmesg for anything relating to SMP or suspend... like this

dmesg | grep SMP | less
dmesg | grep suspend | less

then post the results here
