nvidia driver slackware12.2

Recently installed SW12.2. My video card is Geforce4 Ti 4200 agp8x(per lspci). On nvidia site have legacy 71.86.09 driver. Will this driver work ok in sw12.2. Same card worked in SW9-10.2. Just can't remember driver after 2 yrs. away from SW. Thanx.

If you're running on the default kernel the " Version: 96.43.11 " driver may work.

Code:
wget http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/96.43.11/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-96.43.11-pkg1.run
chmod +x NVIDIA*
Do not disappear, I'm curious if it will work

nvidia driver

Got out old notebook with sw10.2 nvidia notes and checked nvidia site. Downloaded nvidia linux-x86-96.43.11 driver and ran sh command. It seems to work fine. Thanx.
