my specs:
P4 2Ghz Northwood
Asus P4B266-C
Crucial 512Mb Pc2100 DDR
VisionTek GeForce3 (not ti or mx)
Soundblaster XGamer 5.1

those are the more important specs the the other ones....wouldnt think yall would need to know the cd roms and stuff...

Well, here's an idea. Change your /etc/inittab to start you out in text mode only, then once you get to the login prompt and login, you can run either Xconfigurator, or xf86config, or hand edit your XF86Config-4 file. But if you can't even get to a point to do that, then any ideas someone might have would be too hard for you to do... blindly. So get it to at least let you into your system first, then work on getting X setup just right.

When you installed the Nvidia drivers were you out of X? And did you follow the Install docs from Nvidia? editing the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 and commenting out the required lines and adding nvidia as driver for your card, removing nv?

If you boot using lilo you can type "linux single" at the lilo prompt to start in single user mode and do the driver install. If you use grub sorry cant help with that.

I havnt had to mess with my nvidia drivers in a while since I installed RH7.3, so I cant remember all the settings in the XF86Config-4 file you need to change.
