NTFS support like Athene OS
 

Athene operating system does support file systems like FAT, FAT32, NTFS as stated in file system: It states that

" each assignment ends with a colon. This tells the system that you are referring to an assignment. When you access an assignment, the system will convert the reference to its absolute location. For instance, accessing the "athene:" assignment in Windows might refer to the location "c:\program files\athene\". Generally, assignments will recurse into each other, for example the "system:" assignment refers to the location "athene:system/". This makes it easier to maintain the validity of the file system if you want to move an important directory to a new location. "

Can Linux also consider the above for its endeavour in getting to write mode for NTFS file systems. It seems to me that once the compatibility is achieved between the file systems it would work on both the worlds of OS.

Well, it means "Athene OS" is simply a tweaked Linux sold for the masses. Linux means the kernel, and when you add the rest to the package you get out something you can call whatever you like (i.e. "Slackware", "Debian", "Athene", ...)

So from that point of view, you can't ask if "Linux can also" do something that "Athene OS" does. Both are Linuxes in the sense they both run a Linux kernel. They simply have partly different sets of programs and applications, filesystems and layouts.
