Ntfs not supported by kernel


HI All

i m havin dual boot harddisk --
1. linux
2.Dos(WinXP)

now i want to mount windows drive in linux. when i do it gives error like - "fs type NTFS is not supported by kernel."
so i m not able to mount..
so plz tel me wat to do ??

i m havin kernel 2.4.20-8

so tell me wat to do and how to do?

Which linux distribution are you running? Fedora or Redhat see

as root type:
modprobe ntfs

To have linux automatically load the ntfs module add this line to /etc/rc.d/rc.modules

/sbin/modprobe ntfs

accordin to u , i m givin -- modprobe ntfs
gettin error -- "can't locate ntfs"

now tell me wat to do

Ok that means you havent got the module compiled
either go here and get it
http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/
or recompile your kernel with ntfs support

About the file which distro are you using it might also be called modules.rc
