NTFS network share

I am trying to mount my fileserver accross my LAN. I have seen in another thread to use the mount command. Here is the jist of what I typed:

mount -t smbfs -o username=***,password=*** //server/videos /mnt/server

It returns 5721: connection to server failed

I can telnet, FTP, and ping the same box. Am I making a syntax error.

Also I do have the samba rpm installed.

Any help appreciated
thx

Yes.

It also worked to add the server and it's IP to some filename that I already forgot. So much to learn at once!

you're probably talking about /etc/hosts

smbmount(ie mount -t smbfs) doesn't do netbios name lookups

So that's why I have to update /etc/hosts every time the modem restarts...
