Unhappy NTFS and FTP ..


i would like to get some info on NTFS mounting and its compatibility with FTP servers.

i have purftpd running and a NTFS partition mounted.

but why cant i download files from the mounted NTFS partition through a FTP connection ??

and dont laugh id this question is stupid .. i just want to know why is it impossible.. seems strange to me..

Can the user that tries to download the file
access it locally? Mounted NTFS partitions
are usually limited to access by root...
Check your /etc/fstab and modify the line
mounting the ntfs partition so it's readable
to other users, too ...

man 5 fstab
man 8 mount

yes tried that. even root cant download. but all the files are accessable locally. so i dont understand. seems strange.

i get this kind of a message:

150-Accepted data connection
150 9.8 kbytes to download
450 Error during write to data connection: Invalid argument

cant figure this out.
