ns:"error when calling class OldSim"&tclsh:"invalid command+child process exits abn."

i have just installed ns 2.33 on ubuntu8.04.02LTS.

in bashrc,i edited library with the following lines:"

but when I type
%ns myscript.tcl
it says "error when calling class OldSim:myscript.tcl"

if I type %tclsh myscript.tcl
it says:
"invalid command name "new"
while executing "new simulator"
invoked from within "set ns [new simulator]" (file"myscript.tcl line2)
child process exited abnormally "

please tell me what can i do now.....I am a newbie and sorry for stupid questions if it annoys the advanced user ..:$
