Not getting sound in fc5
 

I am a beginner in Fedora my version is fc5,for my fc5 there is sound while, installing os i got some sound in sound card detection part but only one of my speaker was working so after installation i went to system menu->Administration->Soundcard detection again the experience was same.i try to paly an ogg file using helix player but no sound pls help me

Fedora 5 is no longer supported by the Fedora Project and reached its end of life some time ago. I suggest you try Fedora 8 or Fedora 9.

In any case, you should check alsamixer. You have to run it in a terminal window. If it starts, then most probably your sound device and the driver are ok, just check that pcm and master are not zeroed nor muted.
