Not getting GUI login screen
I am running Fedora 9. Everything was working well except a low resolution. When I changed the display adapter it said I had to re-login. I logged out to command prompt and attempted to re-login. Now all I get is a command prompt. I rebooted and am getting the same, it will not boot to the graphical login.
I need guidance to remedy this situation. Thanks. |
what happens when you type
startx |
This happened just before I left for work this morning. I have just been reading Linux groups and saw this to try, along with making sure the runlevel is set to 5. I will check these when I get home.

I tried the startx and got "no screens found" error.

You could try to reconfigure X
redhat-config-xfree86 --reconfig --noui |
I have decided this might be a good time to check out Fedora 10. So, I have downloaded and installed that instead. So far, so good.
Thanks for all the help. |
