not getting display after logging out of KDE

i have a P3, 810e chipset,128 mb sdram Pc.
sometimes ater i log out of KDE session, i don't get the display. keyboard, mouse works.

please help.

I have had problems with kde crashing and even freezing the terminal on logout. For instance this has intermittently ocurred on Slackware 10.2 running on kdm. Slamd46 also gives kde crashes on logging out unless kde is upgraded. You need to look at the logs which I think are in /var/logs to begin to get a handle on what is going on.
